The 20-room 1871 Victorian Italianate home was tastefully decorated for the holidays with 18 themed trees, garlands and other holiday touches. Homemade refreshments prepared by host Fred Rice included four kinds of finger sandwiches, scones and homemade jams, berry trifle, almond torte, several other desserts, mulled cider, punch, and of course, steaming brewed English tea. Check out the Oak and Ivy website on our links page.

A visit to the Arkell Museum in Canajoharie, then on to lunch at the Black Cat Cafe in Sharon Springs were the first two stops in our outing. We then had an "insiders tour" by the owner of the Roseboro Hotel, Mr. Ron Ketelson. Following that a few of us visited the many stores along the Main Street, specifically Beekman 1802 Mercantile. A great time was had by all.
